Itinerary

Day 1     Cusco – Km 104 – Wiñay Wayna – Machu Picchu

From your hotel in Cusco, we’ll pick you up and begin a scenic 2-hour drive to the train station in Ollantaytambo. From there, enjoy a picturesque 1 hour and 14-minute train ride to Kilometer 104—the official starting point of your adventure. Crossing the enchanting Urubamba River, we’ll begin a guided exploration of the Chachabamba archaeological site. As we ascend, each step reveals more breathtaking views of the Andean landscape.

The journey takes us deep into the heart of the neo-tropical cloud forest, a vibrant ecosystem alive with the gentle beauty of wild orchids, the songs of native birds, and the mesmerizing presence of cascading waterfalls. After about three hours of hiking, we reach the majestic site of Wiñaywayna—one of the most stunning and well-preserved Inca ruins, surrounded by nature’s serenity.

Take your time to explore this site with your guide and absorb its mystical atmosphere. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a well-earned lunch amidst this magical setting. Our trek then continues for another couple of hours, leading us to the legendary Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where the first stunning views of Machu Picchu await. If weather allows, you’ll witness an unforgettable sunset over the citadel—a moment that stays etched in your heart.

As evening sets in, we take a short bus ride down to Aguas Calientes, where a comfortable hostel welcomes you for a well-deserved night’s rest.
