Day 1 Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Machupicchu
Early in the morning, we’ll pick you up from your hotel and head to the train station in Ollantaytambo. After a combined journey of about three and a half hours by bus and train, you’ll arrive in the town of Machu Picchu.
Upon arrival, a hotel representative will be waiting to escort you to your accommodation. The rest of the day is yours to relax—perhaps with a visit to the nearby hot springs if you’d like. At 7:30 p.m., your Machu Picchu guide will meet you at the hotel to give you a detailed briefing for the early adventure that awaits you the following morning.
Day 2 Machupicchu Exploration – Return to Cusco
Early in the morning, after breakfast at your hotel, you’ll meet your guide and head to the entrance of Machu Picchu. There, you’ll begin a guided tour of approximately two and a half hours through this wonder of the modern world. You’ll explore key areas of the sanctuary, such as the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Plaza, the Intihuatana, and the agricultural terraces, while your guide shares fascinating stories about the history and mysticism of the Inca citadel.
After the guided tour, you’ll have free time to continue exploring on your own or, if booked in advance, to hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain for spectacular panoramic views.
Later, you’ll return to town for lunch (not included), and in the afternoon, board the train back to Ollantaytambo. From there, private transportation will take you back to Cusco, where you’ll arrive in the evening.
